A delegation of four AE Gibson engineers and senior managers recently visited The Timber Processing & Energy Expo in Portland Oregon USA. This is a one-of-a-kind event for people in the timber, panel, and engineered wood products industry as well as wood-based energy and biomass industries.
.
More than 110 wood producer companies, representing hundreds of mill operations were present, and more than 1,200 (non-exhibitor) attendees from 35 states and 15 countries attended the event. The AE Gibson team explored the aisles of 170 exhibitor companies, who were represented by more than 900 exhibitor representatives.
Our team also met with several of our international technology partners at the Expo and afterwards – Cardinal Sawquip, A&E Electronics, Delta Motion, MTS Temposonics, Kadant, Redwood Plastics, Connexus, Joescan, Scanmeg, and several other major technology providers.

During this trip we also visited Hardwood and Softwood sawmills in the States of Oregon & Washington in the USA, and Montreal, Quebec City, Edmundston & Vancouver in Canada, to learn and share ideas about the latest in wood processing methodologies and efficiencies.
AE Gibson General Manager Curtis Gibson commented “this important technology tour provides our team with valuable insights to the latest technology in the timber industry, and to build strong partnering opportunities for our business. We look forward to sharing this knowledge with customers in the timber processing industries here in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands”.
